چکیده

This paper presents a sound and complete analysis for determining the range of floating-point variables in control software. Existing approaches to bounds analysis either use convex abstract domains and are efficient but imprecise, or use floating-point decision procedures, and are precise but do not scale. We present a new analysis that elevates the architecture of a modern SAT solver to operate over floating-point intervals. In experiments, our analyser is consistently more precise than a state-of-the-art static analyser and significantly outperforms floatingpoint decision procedures.

Model-Driven Decision Procedures for Arithmetic

Considering the theoretical hardness of SAT, the astonishing adeptness of SAT solvers when attacking practical problems has changed the way we perceive the limits of algorithmic reasoning. Modern SAT solvers are based on the idea of conflict driven clause learning (CDCL). The CDCL algorithm is a combination of an explicit backtracking search for a satisfying assignment complemented with a deduc...

Concordance-Based Data-Driven Learning Activities and Learning English Phrasal Verbs in EFL Classrooms

In spite of the highly beneficial applications of corpus linguistics in language pedagogy, it has not found its way into mainstream EFL. The major reasons seem to be the teachers’ lack of training and the unavailability of resources, especially computers in language classes. Phrasal verbs have been shown to be a problematic area of learning English as a foreign language due to their semantic op...

Conflict-Driven Conditional Termination

Conflict-driven learning, which is essential to the performance of sat and smt solvers, consists of a procedure that searches for a model of a formula, and refutation procedure for proving that no model exists. This paper shows that conflict-driven learning can improve the precision of a termination analysis based on abstract interpretation. We encode non-termination as satisfiability in a mona...

Evaluating Design Tradeoffs in Numeric Static Analysis for Java

Numeric static analysis for Java has a broad range of potentially useful applications, including array bounds checking and resource usage estimation. However, designing a scalable numeric static analysis for real-world Java programs presents a multitude of design choices, each of which may interact with others. For example, an analysis could handle method calls via either a top-down or bottom-u...
